Grandpa's Diner and...

23 December 2008
…Everybody finally got here and I’m telling you, it was unbelievable! Uncle Kenny and Aunt Julie had the upstairs; Uncle John and Aunt Kim had the downstairs; and the kids had the sitting room (just off Mom and Dad’s room) They had an airbed and a sofa and no hiding places – hee-hee. Yep, Dog-on-the-Spot was hard at work. They tried to find places under the mattress and under blankets, but I everytime, I sniffed out the slippers or papers or toys. Hey, all you dogs, you gotta try it – it was the best thing EVER!
So, everytime I found something off I went and I could count on them chasing me, calling my name, and trying to grab me. Mom and Dad would get after me, but that only made it more fun. It was so much better than waiting for Mom to drop something at the washing machine or dryer. (She does that a lot, but kids chasing me was so much more fun!)

The kids got up early every morning – ‘course I helped them wake up – and we headed to Grandpa’s Diner. (They all call my Dad, Grandpa!) They hopped on their stools and told him their breakfasts requests. He had eggs, pancakes, bacon, hash browns, toast, and all kinds of goodies. I tried to sneak up on a stool so I could order, too, but, he caught me!

In this picture, Kenny is ordering a FIVE egg
omlette - FIVE eggs! Well, I heard Dad say, "Why don't you try 3 to start?" Kenny wasn't happy about that, but he did it - with bacon and cheese. Guess what? He ate it all, but he didn't ask for two more.

Sis finally got up, just in time for a lot of fooling around. Everyone finished pretty quickly because Daddy said he had something for them in the garage. Check it out!

Yikes! I thought they were going to shoot me - they did, with little soft white things that tasted really good! (I think they're called mashmellows - not sure, but they did taste yummy) It didn't take long before I had white spots all over my coat - looked kinda cool, like a Dalmation. (Hey, Mom, how about some pictures?)

Well, no pictures of the white spots. You'll have to take my word for it. Daddy made those "guns" and I helped - multi-talented, that's me.

Every day, while the kids were there, they'd have breakfast, then we’d play games like chase the dog. One day, they said they were going to do a play and they needed to rehearse. That rehearsing looked pretty wild, in fact, – it looked a lot like when they were after me for stealing something – wild and crazy! Ain't life grand?!

OK, I'm through for today. More soon - bye!
