Groundhog Day!

Thursday, February 2, 2012

The Jacksonville, FL guy saw his shadow - let's go with him and Spring is coming - hooray!

------------------------------------------------------------------------
We were up bright and early - sure didn't want to leave that "nice" campground 'cause I liked listening to the trains and trucks. Oh, well,

goodbye, St George, SC. (I bet we'll see it again on our way back to "the" Forest!)

First stop and - whoo-hoo, one handsome fella! I asked if I could go talk to him, but, no such luck. We had to get on down the road...

...into Georgia. It was a little bit greener and there was more of my favorite, Big Water. Here's the Savannah River

It looks so cool and blue - I'd love to go swimming.

I spotted this car, just after the river, and wondered what it was doing. All the way from West Virginia with dead tree branches and sticks on the roof! I thought it was very, very strange, but maybe it's an artist who's going to create a work of art. (Dad's idea)

I took a short nap and woke up to see the airplane in front of the 8th Air Force Museum. Mom said my Grandpa used to "work" for the 8th and there are pictures and stuff about him in the museum. I think that's very neat, but, hey, guess what? I can't go in and look at the stuff - unless, of course, I train to be a "helper" dog. Think that's possible?

200 miles today and we're here - Kings Bay Naval Air Station, GA
A submarine at the entrance to the base

What a nice park - just off to the left of the little cabin is a nice big lake. I hope we can take a walk around it tomorrow!

Goodnight, all!
